Like Kim, we arrived on 60+mph wind that lasted over 2 hours. This has to be the worst spot on the whole river. The sand blasting reminded me of a scene out of Star Wars. STAY away. The stupid one "Large Boxelder Tree" and thoughts of a nice sandy beach -- they are not worth it!

We were here on a very windy day and the flying sand was brutal. There are campsites in the scrub oak on the upstream side where we were able to hide from the wind and get some sleep. Another time I spent one of my best days ever playing in the sand and the water.

This was a morning snow shower 9/22/00. There was light snow off & on all day, but clear when we got to Echo Park. It was beautiful there with a few inches on the ground. Two days later at takeout we were in shorts and t-shirts.
